eClinical Works

The eClinicalWorks suite of systems is designed for use in a private practice or clinical setting. Unlike many of the larger HIT brands, eClinicalWorks provides an affordable and small-scale option for electronic medical record keeping in a healthcare setting. The EMR/PM system (Electronic Medical Record/Practice Management) offers a comprehensive package of workflow services, from admissions through billing.

Because the EMR/PM system is fully customizable to each office’s unique approach, and because there are a number of specialty-specific optional tools, there is a unique integration and build component each time an HIT consultant works within the eClinicalWorks system. At the same time, because it is designed for ease of use, there is a short training component and little maintenance required once everything is up and running.

eClinicalMobile is an easy-to-use, on-the-go application for use by physicians and administrative staff in a clinical setting. Fully integrated into the eClinical EMR/PM, this mobile option allows users to access the entire database of information through a smart phone, iPhone, or Blackbery hand-held device. There is a data encryption component as well as a secure gateway for enhanced security in keeping with healthcare regulations.

The functions of eClinicalMobile include checking schedules and messages, prescribing medications, viewing patient charts, and examining lab results. Together, these features allow physicians to make timely care decisions while away from the office or working at an alternate location. The eClinicalMobile module is designed to accompany the EMR/PM system, and can be set up during the initial HIT system installation.

For enhanced communications in an private practice setting, eClinicalMessenger is a fast and easy mobile solution. Like all the products offered through eClinicalWorks, the messenger component is designed to work within the existing EMR/PM system as well as Patient Portal. It builds on the suite of tools to enhance communications regarding schedule changes, lab results, health alerts, disease management, and general appointment times.

The eClinicalMessenger system is unique in that it offers both VoIP and SMS text messaging options, which allow users (both physicians, administrative staff, and patients) to respond to messages that are then immediately reflected in the EMR system with the push of just a button. Like other messaging options, eClinicalMessenger can also be customized and personalized for each individual office.

Patient Portal is an eClinicalWorks option that provides web-based patient access to schedules, reports, and lab results. Designed as a way to enhance the patient experience through hands-on options in self-management, Patient Portal can do everything from send reminders and billing statements to providing educational materials to patients. Additional features allow patients to update their medical histories, get prescriptions refilled, and even obtain referral requests all from the comfort of their own homes.

Patient Portal is meant to work within the existing line of eClinicalWorks solutions, offering the same level of security and usability featured in all their HIT options. The right HIT consultant trained in eClinicalWorks will be able to manage the entire infrastructure and design a complete system that meets the needs of individual offices and physician facilities.
